Cupcake the Dog needs a home
We will be doing adoptions on Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th from 12-4pm at Palo Alto Pet Food Express. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.

All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. Cupcake is a 10-12 month old Shih Tzu-Lhasa mix who we rescued from the shelters. When she was found as a stray, her coat was matted to her body, so our groomer had a to shave her down quite a bit, but we promise her coat will grow back luscious and beautiful! It is non-shedding, making her an option for those with allergies, and she will require regular grooming and upkeep to avoid knots and mats. We will be looking for a home with a grooming plan lined up.
Cupcake is an absolute sweetheart! She can be a bit shy initially and can get overwhelmed by tons of action and loud noise, but she adapts quickly. Her rescuers introduced her to 4 dogs on her first day out of the shelter and she did fabulously with all of them. She's playful with dogs her own size (she's in the ten to fifteen pound range) and even experimented in playing with a big goofy Basset Hound pup! Cupcake walks well on leash. She appears to have been potty-pad trained at some point in her life and so far has yet to do her business when out on a walk, but will go straight to her pee pad in the house. Cupcake currently sleeps in a small pen and is silent throughout the night. During the day, she'd rather be by your side, but if she needs to be contained for any reason, she is well-behaved. She's a big fan of spending time on the couch just curled up next to you and loves her belly rubs!
Cupcake is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 3 years. If there are children in the home, they need to be over the age of 8.
